Quick3DPlan – How to Insert and Edit Furniture

🎯 Overview

This article explains how to use the Furnishing tab in Quick3DPlan to insert, configure, and edit furniture manually or automatically.


1. “Add Unit” Tool

1.1 Open the Furniture Dialog

  • Go to the Furnishing tab
  • Click on Add Unit

Dialog organized in levels:

  • Type of furniture: base, wall, column, etc.
  • Furniture height
  • Available furniture list based on levels 1 and 2
  • Subdivisions (only if the selected unit has them)
  • Door and drawer combinations

Selecting Dimensions:

  • Choose the width of the furniture
  • Greyed-out values → not available for the selected combination
  • To edit: delete the current value and enter a new one
  • The icon will change when edited

2. Select Doors, Handles, and Models

2.1 Doors and Handles

  • Modify using the corresponding button
  • Use the dropdown or click on the image
  • Predefined series available in the Model tab
  • It is recommended to modify doors, handles, and materials after inserting the furniture

2.2 Counters and Accessories

  • Baseboards, countertops, and splash backs for base units
  • Cornices and moldings for wall units
  • Activate or deactivate as needed
  • Choose the model by clicking the image or using the dropdown

3. Second Unit

  • Activate the Second Unit tab to automatically place a base and wall unit together
  • If the first unit is a wall unit or column → the second tab is locked
  • Configuration is identical to the first unit

Furniture with Appliances:

  • Example: sink unit → tabs for sink and faucet
  • Oven unit → tabs for oven and cooktop

4. Inserting Furniture

4.1 Manual Insertion

  • Move the mouse to the desired position
  • Press Space → rotate the unit automatically
  • Press Space again → lock rotation
  • Left‑click → confirm position
  • The furniture dialog reopens to insert more

4.2 Multiple Insertion

  • Activate the checkbox to insert multiple identical units consecutively
  • Press Escape to finish

5. Automatic Insertion

  • Places the new unit next to a reference unit
  • By default → the last inserted unit
  • Use red/blue arrows to place it to the right or left
  • To change the reference → select another reference unit

3D View:

  • Allows you to see the design more realistically

6. Special Insertions

  • Corner unit between non‑perpendicular walls
  • Unit at a specific distance between two walls (ideal for islands)
    • Select wall 1 and wall 2
    • Enter distance to both walls
    • The program automatically places the unit

Additional Options:

  • Insert furniture centered on a wall
  • Insert furniture under a window
  • Alignment: back or front face

7. Editing Furniture

  • Double‑click any inserted unit → opens the edit dialog
  • Edit all parameters: dimensions, doors, handles, position, orientation
  • Edit Furniture tool → alternative to modify any unit

Note:

These tools give full control over room furniture, both in manual and automatic insertions, facilitating fast and precise design in Quick3DPlan.
