Quick3DPlan – How to Create a Countertop from a Shape or Top from Shape

Overview

In this video, we will learn how to create a custom countertop over existing cabinets, using geometric contours and configuring its dimensions, elevation, and material in Quick3DPlan.

These types of countertops are also called “Design Countertops”, “Shaped Countertops”, or “Countertops from a Contour.”

1. Accessing the Tool

  • Furniture tab → select Shaped Countertop
  • When clicking it, the program will display a message if no contour exists in the design.
    • Accept the message to open the geometric contours dialog

2. Selecting the Contour

  • The dialog includes geometric shapes: circles, rectangles, and combinations (rectangle + rectangle, etc.)
  • There is also an option to draw custom polygons
  • Interactive preview on the right side of the list
  • Modify the contour dimensions as needed
  • Confirm and drag the contour onto the screen to insert it

3. Generating the Countertop

  • To generate the countertop, select Shaped Countertop again
  • Click inside the desired contour
  • A countertop configuration dialog will open

Configurable parameters:

  • Thickness: example 6 cm
  • Elevation: example 85 cm above the floor
  • Material: choose from the wide range available
  • Confirm by clicking OK twice

4. Final View

  • The countertop is generated over the cabinets according to the selected contour
  • Check in 3D view to verify the shape, height, and position
  • Adjust parameters if necessary to achieve the desired countertop

Note:

This tool allows you to create fully customized countertops that adapt to any furniture layout, offering full control over dimensions, elevation, and finish.
